For Belgian citizens planning to get married in Vietnam, obtaining a certificate of Marital Status is a mandatory step. This document serves as legal proof that you are free to marry.

The document includes personal details, permanent address, and a formal declaration of your current marital status (Single/Divorced/Widowed).

To be recognized by Vietnamese authorities, the document signed at the Belgian Embassy/Consulate must be Consularly Legalized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and subsequently translated into Vietnamese by a certified office.
